Ken Ofori-Atta Takes Legal Action Against OSP Over ‘Wanted Person’ Tag
Ken Ofori-Atta, the former finance minister, has sued Kissi Agyebeng, the head of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), for designating him as a "fugitive from justice" and a "wanted person."
On March 13, 2025, the complaint was filed in the Accra High Court, seeking restitution and a ruling that the OSP's activities had infringed upon his rights.
Ofori-Atta's attorneys contend that the OSP lacked the legal right to issue a public media announcement declaring him sought. They contend that this move has unnecessarily distressed him emotionally and seriously harmed his reputation.

After receiving proof that Ofori-Atta had voluntarily returned to Ghana, the OSP formally removed him off its list of sought individuals following the legal challenge.
In spite of this, the OSP has sent him a severe warning, telling him to show up for interrogation at the appointed time or face being placed on a wanted person's list once more.
The fact that Ofori-Atta has now sued the OSP twice for the same charges highlights the continued hostilities between the former minister and the anti-corruption bureau.
