President Mahama’s 2025 State of the Nation Address: A Vision for Economic Growth and National Progress

Ensuring Accountability in Sports

Highlighting concerns about financial mismanagement in the sports sector, the President called for increased transparency within the Ghana Football Association and other governing bodies.

 He directed the Ministry of Youth and Sports to ensure accountability in the allocation and use of public funds.

Boosting Tourism Through the 'Black Star Experience'

As part of efforts to strengthen the economy, President Mahama introduced the Black Star Experience initiative, designed to position Ghana as a premier destination for cultural tourism and attract investment from the global diaspora.

Revamping Healthcare Infrastructure

Addressing healthcare concerns, the President criticized the stalled Agenda 111 hospital project, revealing that large sums had been spent without any completed facilities.

 He promised a renewed focus on delivering functional hospitals to improve healthcare access nationwide.

Youth Development and National Service Reform

To equip young Ghanaians with discipline and resilience, President Mahama announced a new initiative incorporating military training into the National Service Scheme. 

This program aims to enhance skills, national pride, and preparedness for future challenges.

Commitment to Financial Stability

Reassuring investors and bondholders, the President pledged timely settlement of outstanding payments, reaffirming his administration’s dedication to financial stability and economic confidence.

Strengthening Education

President Mahama reaffirmed his support for the Free Senior High School (SHS) program, promising enhancements to improve its quality and sustainability, ensuring that every Ghanaian child has access to quality education.
